Civil Society Brewing Co. is looking for a part-time Cellerperson to provide support to our brewing team with potential for full-time (for the appropriate candidate). We are looking for someone who has prior experience working in a brewery. Operation of canning machines is a major plus. Must be highly organized and very flexible.
Job Duties:
- Assist in the brewing process including, yeast management, transferring product between tanks and packaging products in kegs, cans and bottles.
- Detailed record keeping including operation checklist, maintenance logs, and package records
- Cleaning of 1/6 BBL and 1/2 BBL kegs
- Help maintain a clean and organized brewery environment
- A number of other varied operational and brewery related tasks as necessary.

- Coordinate with GM in planning and executing events.
- Communicate with the local community and local businesses to generate interest in private parties.
- Work with interested private parties to book event and negotiate event details.
- Manage event schedule and ensure seamless execution.
- Work with design team to create on-site marketing for event schedule.
Social Media:
- Monitor social media platforms and interact with audience daily.
- Manage all content including photos, videos, and written material.
- Work with photographer to create content.
- Create and manage marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities.
- Post pictures of weekly new releases and other promotional content.
- Update UnTappd with new, weekly releases.
- Monitor current social media trends and implement accordingly.

The General Manager executes the brand image and standards of Civil Society Brewing Co. and performs complex managerial oversight to all customer facing functions within Tasting Room operations. This position manages the all front of house operations, including the Tasting Room, financials, service levels, etc. The GM recruits, hires, and trains Tasting Room staff, kitchen staff, conducts meetings, ensures that broad matters are dealt with and executed, and will maintain a strategic operating plan and communicate such plans to the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
GENERAL
- Oversee and manage all areas of the taprooms from beverage to food service and make decisions on matters of importance.
- Consult with owner on important matters which may have significant impacts on the success of Civil Society Brewing Co.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to set standards and levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including beverage, food, supplies, utility and labor costs.
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures. uniforms, and appearance standards.
FOOD SAFETY AND PLANNING
- Enforce sanitary practices and general cleanliness, and maintenance bar and tasting room areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
- Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age (TIPS Certified)
- Responsible for ensuring consistent and high quality service.
- Maintain professional image, including taproom cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.

- Up to 10+ employees each shift currently between two locations (subject to change)
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hours may vary if manager must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise (typical work week = 50 hours).
- Ability to perform all functions at the taproom level
